My Evaluation of the Course

Throughout this summer I have learned much in this English class. Mrs. Ross has really made me think about important things and look at life in a new perspective. In this class I believe that I have improved my writing skills. Mrs. Ross has not just challenged me in class but also in character. I have learned that life takes no excuses and to always keep my priorities straight. Mrs. Ross is a teacher I can say I will never forget. She taught more than just grammar and how to write an essay; she taught us about life.
I have learned in this class that working to my potential is a lot easier than just trying to make it by. Pushing your mind as far as it can will give better result than trying to doing the work just to get it done. This class is slowly bringing out the potential I have but have not shown because of being lazy. The essays I write and the assignments I have are things I would not have even attempted in high school. I am just glad I have a teacher like Mrs. Ross to push me and will not settle for any and every little excuse.
In conclusion, this class has taught me a lot that I can take on to my next class. The things I learned in this class I will also be able to use in the real world. I believe now that I am mentally prepared to move to the next level. This class helped me put aside all excuses and just take everything as it is given. Even though I had a good time in this class, if I had to take it all over I would say…”I WOULDN’T!!!”

Things I Will Change About Me

I will love to change my speed. I wish I was faster on the field so I can be able to make more plays and contribute to the team.

I want to get stronger. I believe if I was stronger I would be a better athlete and do things I have never done before.

I would change my work ethic. Not on the field, but in the classroom also. I always start off on a good start but I tend to slow down and get lazy at the end. I want to be able to finish strong.

Things I Will Not Change About Me

I will not change about my self is the way I think. I think about things ahead of time and think of the good and the bad consequences of the situation.

I will not change my character. My character as brought me a long way; I show people that I am a well-mannered, respectful young man.

I will not change the choices I have made in my life. I believe that every thing that I have done has happened for a reason.

Reflection on the Week

From having fun with my teammates, to my cell phone not working anymore, this week had its ups and downs. This camp can be fun at times, and also at times it can be one of the most boring places in the world. This week went by so fast, I can barley remember what I have done. It has been a big blur. I’m glad there are only two more weeks left.
The waking up at five in the morning every single weekday can take a toll on a person. Sometimes I wish could get more rest before class and during the week. I spent most of my down period this week mingling and getting to know my teammates more. Most of the time there is nothing to do but play video games or work out. At times I still spend time alone to have time to think and get to know my purpose of being here. Besides, there is not very much to do since my phone went dead and my charger broke. I can not even contact my friends and family at home unless I use my roommate phone when he is not using it.
In conclusion, this week has had its good and bad moments. I also had fun hang with the team and my mentors. I got to learn more about new people and may have gained trust friendship with a few. I am just waiting for these next to weeks to fly by. I am ready to head back home so I can find a new phone. To tell the truth, I have been kind of miserable without it.

Reflection on My Weekend

There is only one word that can describe this weekend and that word is boredom. I admit I did have a little fun fishing but after that point my weekend was a total bust. Sometimes I wish they could let us go home for at least one weekend. I pretty much can bet if they allowed that no one would come back. At this point of the program there is nothing to do but countdown the days until I leave.
Casting those rods in the water cleared my mind and had me thinking of good times and the time I have left here at this camp. Even though I caught only one fish, (and that was because I tangled my line with another and me and the other person reeled in at the same time) the trip was fun. I could tale in some of my peers’ faces that most of them never been fishing before. Every one was just having a good time.
Back on Concordia campus it is back to “Boredsville”. There was nothing for me to do other than work out or walk around the campus, which does not really lead too much walking. Most of my time was spent in my room or a teammate’s room playing Madden. It seemed like that is the camp’s best way to past time. Most of the time I jus sat in my bed and count off the days until I load up heading for Mobile.

Reflection on Midan's Reflection

To be honest, I do not have anything to write about. There really was not enough information from the two words Midan had stated. He did not even tell what he wrote about. In my point of view, I really do not see why I am writing. Maybe I will find out the reason as I continue to write.
As I am writing and still trying to trying to figure out the reason of this essay, I am confused. I mean what story or any type of writing can a person make about another persons paper about their life and have not read it or known the person for long. The only good I say is coming from this assignment is that maybe Mrs. Ross is getting us to write our own reflective essay to see if we can reflect on anything. Who knows the reason of this paper? This whole paper is pointless to me. I do not know how everyone else feels, but this is just my opinion.
I am not trying to be disrespectful in any way but, this is just how I feel. I am sorry if I got away or drifted from the subject, but there is no input that I can put in this paper from his answer. I feel as if I am writing just to write. Still, I am almost at the end of this essay and do not know the meaning of this assignment. I just know that this class is making me miss home. I can not wait for these next few weeks to be over.

My Intro

I am seventeen years of age and born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. Graduate of Benton Cato Rain High School in Mobile, Alabama, I am currently enrolled in Concordia College – Selma (CCS) where I will study Criminal Justice and pursue a job working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In this ABC (Athletic Boot Camp) program I attend to get a jumpstart on my courses and shake off any rust I would have had if I did not participate. I am a student eager to learn and willing to work. Also I plan to be apart of the CCS football program. The ABC program also helps me workout to get bigger, better and stronger to get ready for the field.
Another reason I entered this program is to become a better person and to help tune me into a man. People have told me that I am a well mannered and respectful young man, but I say there is never enough room for more improvement. My plans are to learn a lot from my peer mentors, teachers, and coaches and gain better study habits to become the best student I can be while I am here. Studying hard and pushing me to do my work to full potential will be my goal for this program and the up coming school year. I am grateful to have this opportunity to have this chance to get a jumpstart on learning.
